Speaking to an assembly while on his "Building Ghana Tour" in the Volta Region, Mr. Mahama conveyed his worry on the recent power outages that have occurred in certain areas of the nation, highlighting that the NDC had previously handled the electricity issue when in office. He charged that the current administration was mismanaging the power dynamics and transferring the issue to upcoming administrations.

Furthermore, Mr. Mahama condemned the government's decision to impose additional taxes, including Value Added Tax (VAT), COVID levy, NHIL levy, and GETFUND Levy on electricity bills. He lamented that these taxes, coupled with rising tariffs, were burdening consumers and businesses. He called for a reduction in government expenditure to alleviate the financial strain on taxpayers.

In addition, Mr. Mahama pledged that if elected, his government would prioritize completing existing projects rather than initiating new ones. He criticized the current administration for abandoning ongoing projects and starting new ones without ensuring their completion.
