Ghana Defender Alexander Djiku Apologizes for AFCON Exit

Following the Black Stars' group-stage exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Ghana defender Alexander Djiku has issued an apology to the nation. This marks Ghana's third consecutive early exit from the tournament, with the latest disappointment occurring in Ivory Coast.

Despite finishing second in Group B, Ghana's hopes of progressing to the knockout round were dashed when Cameroon secured a late win over Gambia, officially eliminating the Black Stars.

Having been a part of the last three major tournaments with the national team, Djiku expressed his regret and extended his apologies to Ghanaians. He also acknowledged the support received from fans and conveyed gratitude for their unwavering backing.
