Late John Kumah’s Wife Clarifies Cause of Death and Denounces False Claims

The widow of the late John Kumah, a member of parliament for Ejisu and deputy finance minister, has denied rumors that have been going about that her husband's death was caused by food poisoning.

Apostle Lilian Kumah clarified that, in contrast to false information making the rounds in the public domain, her husband had bravely fought a serious illness for almost a full year.

In an interview, Apostle Lilian Kumah revealed that her late husband's German doctors had diagnosed him with a fatal illness, which he had been treating for about a year. She stressed that, contrary to rumors circulated by some, he did not suffer food poisoning; rather, it was this chronic illness that ultimately caused his death on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

Putting an end to speculation, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, who also serves as the General Overseer of Disciples of Christ Ministries, expressed her profound grief and urged individuals propagating unfounded claims about the cause of her husband's death to cease amplifying falsehoods. She appealed for swift legal action against known individuals, notably mentioning Captain Smart, for making baseless allegations of poisoning without providing any evidence to support his assertions regarding the demise of John Kumah.

Expressing her anguish over the unfounded accusations, Apostle Lilian Kumah underscored the urgency for accountability in addressing such harmful misinformation that not only exacerbates the pain of her family but also distorts the memory of her late husband’s legacy.

Regarding the circumstances surrounding her husband's health, Apostle Lilian Kumah recounted how John Kumah was diagnosed with a blood-related illness in August 2023 during a medical evaluation in Germany. Throughout the course of his treatment in Germany and Ghana, no medical professionals mentioned any indication of poisoning, discrediting the speculative claims that have surfaced posthumously.
