Former Navrongo MP Mark Owen Woyongo Passes Away

The Woyongo family has declared Mark Owen Woyongo, a former Navrongo member of parliament, dead. His family announced in a press release on Thursday, January 18, that he passed away on Wednesday, January 17, at the Bank of Ghana Hospital.

Hon. Mark Owen Woyongo was their brother and beloved son. They released a statement, signed by Mr. Awini Zinge of Nayagnia–Navrongo, expressing their profound sorrow at his passing. The unfortunate incident happened on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the Bank of Ghana Hospital, the family disclosed. The surviving spouse of Mark Woyongo is Cecilia Wuni Woyongo.

Mark Woyongo had retired from politics after losing the 2016 election. He had previously served as the Interior Minister and recently laid his son, Kenneth Kwotua, to rest at the age of 49. Additionally, he had represented Navrongo in Parliament and was also the owner and Chief Executive Officer of Tamale-based Diamond FM.
