I Have the Integrity to Combat Corruption – Bawumia
The leader of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has vowed to fight corruption if elected president of Ghana in the approaching elections in December.
He has made this commitment to the country's voters. Dr. Bawumia emphasized his spotless record and his steadfast dedication to maintaining personal integrity in order to face and maybe eradicate the national corruption problem.
Dr. Bawumia presented his proposal to combat corruption in a public speech on Wednesday, February 7, at the University of Professional Studies in Accra. He focused on his intention to digitally revolutionize all state entities in order to improve accountability and transparency.
He presented himself as a reliable leader with the ability to successfully fight corruption, highlighting his record of honesty and commitment to national service.
Dr. Bawumia's stance extends to safeguarding Ghana's natural resources for the collective prosperity of its citizens. By vowing to prioritize the prudent management and utilization of the nation's resources, he aimed to position himself as the advocate for sustainable resource stewardship and equitable benefit distribution.
The current administration has faced criticism for its perceived handling of corruption allegations and its efforts to address malfeasance within governmental structures. Moreover, the Office of the Special Prosecutor, created to spearhead anti-corruption initiatives, has been scrutinized for falling short of expectations in its mandate to combat corrupt practices effectively.
