Gideon Fosu Named Chairman of WAFU U-17 Cup of Nations LOC for Accra 2024

The Ghana Football Association's Executive Council has appointed Gideon Fosu as the chairman of the Local Organizing Committee for the WAFU U-17 Cup of Nations, set to take place in Accra in 2024.

Fosu, a member of the GFA's Executive Council and the Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Division One League side Kings Palace FC, will lead the committee in organizing the prestigious tournament.

Assisting Fosu will be Robert Duncan, the chairman of the Central Regional Football Association, along with Paul Ayamba, Business Development Officer of Premier League side FC Samartex, Leslie Kuuku Bartels, President of Division One League side Victory Club Warriors, and Nana Asante Bismark of Wamanafo Mighty Royals.

The Committee's primary task is to develop comprehensive plans, programs, and a roadmap for the successful execution of the tournament scheduled to take place in Accra from May 15 to 29, 2024. Seven countries, including Cote D’Ivoire, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Togo, Niger, Benin, and host Ghana, will compete for the championship title, with the top three teams qualifying for next year's Total Energies U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.

Number 12: High Court Issues Ultimatum for GFA to Present Witnesses Against Nyantakyi

Accra High Court has issued a final ultimatum to the prosecution in the case involving former Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Kwesi Nyantakyi. The court demanded the state to present witnesses to testify against Nyantakyi in relation to the fraud and other charges leveled against him; failure to comply risks the dismissal of the case. Initially, the state identified five witnesses, including the renowned investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, to provide testimony in the proceedings.
