AFCON 2023: Local Organizing Committee for 13th African Games Donates To Black Stars

The 13th African Games' Local Organizing Committee (LOC) gave the Black Stars a donation at their Kumasi hotel as a way of showing its support. Prior to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, this was done in an attempt to promote the 13th African Games and rally support for the team.

The gift was symbolically delivered by Executive Chairman Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare and Head of Media Dan Kwaku Yeboah. It featured several 13th African Games regalia in addition to 100 packs of Special Ice Mineral Water. The offer was graciously appreciated by the team captain, Andre Dede Ayew, and Mr. Charles Amofa, the Ministry of Youth and Sports representative accompanying the LOC.

Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare used the occasion to express his sincere wishes for the Black Stars' future campaign at the Africa Cup of Nations as well as to make a request for their support. He emphasized the significance of their support by saying, "The LOC sees you as proud ambassadors of the African Games and accordingly urges you to throw your weight behind the Games." As the team got ready to represent Ghana in the upcoming AFCON in Ivory Coast, he also offered his best wishes to them.

In response, Andre Ayew expressed deep gratitude for the generous gesture from the LOC, acknowledging the crucial support as the team readied itself for the upcoming challenges. He further commended the LOC for their dedicated preparations to host the rest of Africa, reinforcing his belief in Ghana's readiness to deliver a remarkable tournament. In a reciprocal gesture of goodwill, Andre Ayew presented an autographed Black Stars shirt and a pennant to Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, symbolizing gratitude and solidarity.
