Former HR Officer Arrested in Connection with Murder of Royal Cosy Hills Hotel CEO


In connection with the gruesome murder of the establishment's chief executive officer, Elyasah Mahama, the former HR officer of the Royal Cosy Hills Hotel, has been taken into custody by the police. According to reports, Mahama was apprehended from a hiding place in Takoradi and sent to Wa on a commercial aircraft for interrogation.


According to sources, Eric Johnson, the CEO, fired Mahama on Thursday, February 8, a mere three days prior to the catastrophic event. After the killing, Mahama is said to have departed Jirapa and been apprehended in Takoradi.

Mahama was first taken to Takoradi for additional interrogation and then returned to Wa following his interview there. After his arrest, there are now eight people being held in connection with the businessman's murder.

Background:

The prominent businessman was discovered dead in his residence on Sunday, February 11, in a pool of blood. It was determined that the perpetrator(s) gained entry by climbing over a wall using a ladder and then used a master card to access his room.

The victim was found with deep wounds on his body, believed to have been inflicted post-bath. His car was driven away from the premises but later abandoned in town. Seven individuals have been taken into custody for questioning regarding the murder.

In a statement, the Ghana Police Service disclosed that two additional suspects were apprehended following the initial arrest of five individuals after the discovery of the deceased businessman. Among those arrested are Dookuuri Fausta, Braimah Kasim, Beyuo Felix, Michael Klugey, Kumbata Kwaku, Charles Tuoze, and Favour Nuobe, aiding in the ongoing investigation.

Five suspects have been remanded by the Wa Magistrate Court based on a police request for further investigations. Two suspects were granted bail. The Regional Crime Scene Management Team has conducted an examination at the scene of the crime.

Mahama is expected to appear alongside the other suspects at the Wa District Court for proceedings.
