Professor Kwesi Aning, a security consultant, has called for stakeholders involved in restoring peace in Bawku to ensure that proposed solutions are free from any political bias. He emphasized that political inclinations hinder the development of a comprehensive approach to resolving the ongoing violence in the region.

This plea comes in the wake of a recent incident where five individuals were fatally shot, adding to the long-standing conflict in Bawku. Concerns have been raised about the failure of successive governments to address the root cause of the issue effectively.
During an interview, Prof. Kwesi Aning expressed his concerns about the extreme politicization of conflict resolution efforts in Bawku. He highlighted that differing approaches by political parties in power contribute to a lack of unified action, despite the common underlying issues.
According to Prof. Aning, the excessive politicization exacerbates the crisis, making it difficult to find sustainable solutions. He stressed the importance of addressing the root causes of the conflict and pursuing interventions based on consensus, rather than political agendas.
