Oti Regional Minister Calls For Immediate End to Tribal Clashes In Nkwanta

Dr Joshua Makubu, the Oti Regional Minister, has made a passionate plea for harmony and tranquility, calling for an immediate cessation of tribal clashes among the various communities in Nkwanta. 

His appeal comes at a critical time, with escalating tensions resulting in clashes between tribes in the region.

During a brief meeting with media personnel seeking clarification on the conflict in Nkwanta, Dr Makubu expressed deep concern over the recent escalation of the conflict within Nkwanta. He emphasized the importance of unity and understanding among the diverse tribes in the region.

"Peace is the cornerstone of development, and without it, progress becomes elusive. It is disheartening to witness our communities torn apart by tribal conflicts, which only serve to hinder the growth and prosperity we all seek," remarked Dr Makubu during the press briefing.

In order to settle conflicts, the Oti Regional Minister asked traditional rulers, community leaders, and inhabitants to embrace dialogue and reconciliation. He emphasized that in order to promote understanding and create bridges amongst the many tribes in Nkwanta, open lines of communication are essential.

"I beg everyone concerned to approach the discussion with an open mind and heart. Let's put unity over division, understanding over ignorance, and nonviolent discourse first. Together, we are stronger, said Dr. Makubu.

The minister revealed intentions to hold a peace summit with representatives from the warring tribes, local authorities, and other interested parties as part of his initiative to advance peace. 

The summit's objective is to provide a forum for candid conversations so that attendees may express their worries and collaborate to find long-term solutions.

Many locals are expecting that the peace conference would usher in a new era for Nkwanta, and many have expressed support for the minister's efforts. Several local authorities have already expressed interest in taking part in the conversation and hope that a peaceful conclusion may be achieved.
