Ghanaian singer Sista Afia, born Francisca Gawugah, has opened up about her painful experience of being deceived in love. The "Weather" singer revealed that she no longer trusts men after her long-term boyfriend married another woman while they were still together.

Sista Afia disclosed that the unexpected betrayal caused her immense mental distress, leading to her being admitted to a psychiatric hospital. She expressed her heartbreak, saying, "I was blinded by love and couldn't see the signs. When I found out he had gotten married, I was shattered. It took me a long time to recover."

The singer,  made her mark in the music industry in 2015 with her debut track "Kro Kro No" featuring Bisa Kdei. She gained widespread attention after releasing "Jeje," a collaboration with dancehall artiste Shatta Wale and Afezi Perry.

Despite her personal struggles, Sista Afia has earned several nominations, including VGMA's Best Highlife Song of the Year (2019) and the 3Music Awards Female Woman of the Year in 2020.
