You Can't Misuse the Name of Antoa - Chief Priest Warns Wontumi and Kokosohene

The Ashanti regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, and Kokosohene Nana Kwaku Duah have received a strong warning from Nana Asiamah, the chief priest of the Antoa Nyamaa shrine, regarding possible misuse of the deity's name in recent disputes.

This warning is given in the middle of an ongoing dispute that was started by Chairman Wontumi's curse against Kokosohene.

Implications of Misuse and Unresolved Curses

Nana Asiamah stressed the seriousness of using the shrine's authority to curse people and the consequences of ignoring these acts. He emphasized that in order to prevent terrible things from happening, Chairman Wontumi and Kokosohene needed to go to the shrine, break the curse, and make amends for any misuse of the god's power.

Resolution at Manhyia Palace and Shrine Involvement

The saga surrounding the curse invoked by Chairman Wontumi and its implications on Kokosohene has seen attempts at resolution, including engagement at the Manhyia Palace for mediation. However, the caretakers of the Antoa shrine, as recipients of the curse, expressed reservations over the incomplete resolution at Manhyia, necessitating a comprehensive settlement before they can proceed with the necessary rituals to lift the curse.

Pending Resolution and Path Forward

Despite partial clearance from the Kumasi Traditional Council regarding allegations against Chairman Wontumi, the curse on Kokosohene stands unresolved until a conclusive settlement is brokered at the Manhyia Palace. The narrative underscores the intricate interplay between tradition, cultural beliefs, and the pursuit of conflict resolution within the Ashanti region's spiritual and governance framework.
