Akufo-Addo to Deliver State of the Nation Address on February 27, 2024


President Akufo-Addo will deliver the State of the Nation Address (SONA) to Parliament on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, according to information disclosed by Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Majority Leader, during the reopening of Parliament on February 6.

Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, which requires the President to update the country through Parliament at the beginning of each parliamentary session, outlines the constitutional obligation for this yearly address.

The upcoming SONA is expected to cover a wide range of topics including security, governance, education, health, infrastructure, and the ongoing efforts to combat corruption. Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu urged all Members of Parliament to be present for this important occasion.
