You Cannot Distance Yourself from Ghana's Economic Mess - Mahama to Bawumia

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Mahama, is adamant that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia cannot blame himself for Ghana's current economic woes.

Mahama underlined that responsibility for the country's economic state must fall on every member of the Akufo-Addo cabinet.

Mahama restated his position that the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) has mismanaged the nation's affairs and ought to be ousted from office during a town hall meeting in Tamale. He declared that all public servants will be held responsible for their deeds and inactions under his direction.

Mahama pointed out, "Now, all those who contributed to the mess are trying to distance themselves as if they were not involved. People are claiming they were not in charge, but they all played a role in the crisis and cannot escape responsibility. They were part of the decisions made collectively in cabinet meetings."

Referring to the NPP's flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who appealed to Ghanaians to vote for him as the next president, Mahama maintained that Bawumia must acknowledge his role in the challenges faced alongside President Akufo-Addo. He stood firm in his belief that accountability should be upheld across all government officials.
