We'll Scrutinize Bawumia's Anti-taxation Stance - Okudzeto Ablakwa

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has expressed readiness to test Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia's commitment to his recent anti-taxation stance.

Ablakwa finds it inconsistent that Dr. Bawumia, who played a significant role in IMF negotiations, is now distancing himself from tax responsibilities amidst the country's economic challenges.

Following Dr. Bawumia's promises to eliminate various taxes, Ablakwa stated on JoyNews that the Minority will introduce a private member's bill to remove nuisance taxes and expects the Vice President's support.

Highlighting Dr. Bawumia's past involvement in approving taxes during IMF negotiations, Ablakwa emphasized the need to assess the Vice President's sincerity now rather than waiting until after elections.

Ablakwa believes that Dr. Bawumia can address Ghana's hardships without becoming president and questions his trustworthiness to lead the country for the next four years.
