The defendant clarified that discussions instead revolved around his Easter vacation plans to his hometown and denied any involvement in planning spiritual consultations or wealth acquisition strategies with the 15-year-old accomplice.
Confronted with assertions from the prosecution, the accused maintained his stance, emphasizing the absence of prior intentions or actions regarding spiritual rituals or violence. He challenged the State to present any audio evidence supporting the purported discussions during the examination, advocating for the truth to prevail through factual recordings.
Further denying knowledge of the relationship between the 15-year-old and the deceased victim Ishmael, the accused distanced himself from claims of premeditated actions or prior criminal endeavors presented by the prosecution.
In response to suggestive statements from the Prosecutor, insinuating prior instances of secretive planning and deadly outcomes, the defendant staunchly refuted the allegations, reiterating his lack of awareness or involvement in any illicit schemes.
The Court has adjourned the proceedings to February 14, 2024, as the case continues to unfold with the accused vigorously contesting the characterization of events surrounding the tragic incident in Kasoa.
