President Akufo-Addo's Pre-Election Ministerial Reshuffle Will Make an Impact - Justin Kodua

Addressing criticisms during an interview on JoyFM’s Top Story on February 14, Frimpong highlighted the significance of the 10-month window in political life. Drawing attention to Minister Brian Acheampong's swift impact in the Ministry of Agriculture as an illustration, he emphasized the importance of the vision and innovative ideas that appointees bring to their roles.

Frimpong urged Ghanaians to closely observe the new appointees and assess the tangible changes they would introduce to President Akufo-Addo's governance. He accentuated the upcoming weeks and months as critical for evaluating the performance of the reshuffled officials. Frimpong stressed that the results of their contributions would become apparent by the December 7 election date.

Reflecting on past calls for a reshuffle made by Frimpong on December 22, he acknowledged the President's action, albeit two months after his initial plea, as timely. Frimpong rationalized that in times of crisis, prudent decision-making necessitates waiting for turbulence to subside before implementing changes. He likened this approach to steering a car away from impending danger, emphasizing the importance of stability before enacting reforms.

Moreover, he dismissed the notion of lateness, asserting that a 10-month timeframe provides ample opportunity for officials to showcase their competence through meaningful changes. President Akufo-Addo reshuffled nine appointees on February 14, with the most notable change being the reassignment of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
