NAGRAT Gives OSP a Two-Day Ultimatum to Release Withheld Teachers' Salaries

The Office of the Special Prosecutor has received a harsh ultimatum from the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), requiring the immediate payment of salary for more than 400 teachers by Friday. NAGRAT issued a warning that there would be dire consequences for noncompliance.

Under the pretense of looking into "ghost names" on the government payroll, the Association accused the OSP of deducting the teachers' salaries. Angel Karbonu, the president of NAGRAT, rejected this explanation, claiming that paychecks shouldn't be withheld until a thorough audit establishes the validity of payments.

Karbonu expressed frustration on NewsNite, stating that if the salaries are not unfrozen by Friday, February 16, 2024, NAGRAT will be compelled to take further action. He criticized the Special Prosecutor for focusing on minor issues while neglecting more significant cases of corruption.

He emphasized, "If he does not defreeze the salaries by Friday, he will have to be blamed for whatever happens after Friday." NAGRAT remains steadfast in its demand for timely and fair treatment of teachers' salaries, warning of escalating consequences if their demands are not met.
