Intensified Water Scarcity in Tamale Due to Harmattan Weather - GWCL

The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has revealed that the water shortage in the Tamale community has intensified due to the ongoing harmattan weather phenomenon in the northern region of the country.

Director of Communications at GWCL, Stanley Martey, explained that the dry weather conditions have led to the drying up of the Nawuni River, exacerbating the water scarcity issue.

Martey emphasized that the low water levels in the river during this time of the year result in increased turbidity, making it challenging to obtain quality raw water for treatment.
