In recent months, Ghana has witnessed a surge of attempts by its citizens to establish new Guinness World Records, showcasing exceptional talent and determination. 

Among these endeavors, the pursuits of Afua Asantewaa in the longest singing marathon and Chef Faila in the cooking marathon have captivated the nation. Not to be overlooked is the ongoing cookathon attempt by Executive Chef Ebenezer Smith, also known as Millennium Chef, which promises to add a unique flair to Ghana's record-breaking endeavors.

Here are some key highlights about Executive Chef Ebenezer Smith's ambitious cookathon attempt:

1. Nicknamed Millennium Chef: Executive Chef Ebenezer Smith is popularly known as Millennium Chef, reflecting his modern culinary approach and forward-thinking mindset.

2. Initial Attempt and Approval: His first bid to secure approval from the Guinness World Records in July 2023 did not succeed. However, his persistence paid off when his second attempt in September 2023 was approved for February 2024.


3. Commencement of Cookathon: Chef Smith commenced his impressive cookathon on February 1, 2024, embarking on a remarkable culinary journey.

4. Duration and Venue: Initially aiming to cook continuously for 360 hours, equivalent to 15 days, Chef Smith chose the Amadia Shopping Center on the Community 18 Road of Spintex as the venue for his culinary feat.

5. Extended Duration: In a bold move to surpass the record set by a Canadian-based Nigerian, Beauty Obasuyi, who cooked for 448 unofficial hours, Chef Smith extended his initial 360 hours to an astounding 1200 hours over 50 days.
