NDC Disapproves EC's Proposal to Change Election Date from December 7 to November 7

Instead of endorsing the EC's unilateral decision, the NDC is advocating for an all-encompassing review of the electoral process through inclusive and open dialogue.

This stance was articulated during the recent Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Monday, January 22, with the NDC presenting its recommendations to the EC.

Additionally, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the party's Director of Elections and IT, expressed the NDC's willingness to engage in discussions concerning voting during worship or prayer days, underscoring an approach that values dialogue and inclusivity.

In contrast, the Electoral Commission (EC) has stood by its proposal to adjust the election date for both Presidential and Parliamentary elections to November 7, 2024.

The EC cited operational management as the driving force behind this recommendation, emphasizing the need for adequate time to handle logistical provisions, particularly in scenarios necessitating a run-off election.
