The council's press statement, dated Monday, January 22, 2024, underlines the significance of upholding the constitutional provision outlined in Article 276(1) which explicitly specifies that "A chief shall not take part in politics; and any chief wishing to do so and seeking an election to Parliament shall abdicate his stool or skin."

The statement, signed by the Council's Registrar, Bright Owusu-Ansah, explicitly references this crucial constitutional clause, reiterating the necessity of chiefs abstaining from political involvement.

It further underscores the Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II's unwavering endorsement of this provision, emphasizing the need for chiefs to adhere to this constitutional mandate.
