Bawku Conflict: 6 Shot Dead, 2 Injured

Today, reports have emerged indicating a distressing attack in Bawku resulting in the death of at least six individuals. 

The fatal incident unfolded when armed assailants indiscriminately opened fire on a bus en route to Binduri market, marking a concerning breach following a span of relative tranquility in the area. Tragically, the victims include two males and four females, contributing to the devastating human toll of the attack.

Authorities confirmed the incident, expressing deep concern over the potential for further casualties as the situation evolves. Hamza Amadu, the Municipal Chief Executive for Bawku, verified the distressing occurrence, while highlighting the possibility of an elevated casualty count, indicating the heightened risk for additional victims.

This tragic event follows a series of alarming incidents in the region, including a recent attack on a bus transporting students from the Presbyterian Nurses Training College, Bawku, resulting in multiple injuries among the passengers. 

Moreover, a prior assault on tricycle operators near the Bawku Community Centre claimed the lives of two individuals, heightening the atmosphere of insecurity in the area.
