Radio Stations' Managers Plan Petitions Following Closure by NCA
In a statement dated February 24, 2024, the NCA justified its decision to suspend Bawku FM, Source FM, Zahra FM, and Gumah FM based on advice from National Security.

Citing the inflammatory nature of discussions and presentations by panelists and hosts on these stations as contributing factors to escalating conflicts in the region, the NCA invoked its powers under the Electronic Communications Act,2008 (Act 775) to safeguard national security and public interest.
The General Manager of Gumah FM, Nurudeen Gumah, highlighted that while the NCA did not engage with the affected media houses regarding the allegations, the management intends to address the situation formally to seek resolution and clarity. The planned petition to both the NCA and NMC aims to advocate for transparency and due process in handling the closure.
