Akufo-Addo Extends Condolences to Namibia on the Passing of President Hage Geingob

Following the loss of Namibia's respected President, Hage Geingob, President Akufo-Addo has sent his sincere condolences to the people of Namibia.

In his sympathy message, President Akufo-Addo honors the late Namibian President, citing him as a devoted servant of his people as well as a respected leader. He praised Mr. Geingob's steadfast efforts, which had a long-lasting effect on the history of the country.

President Akufo-Addo said, "President Geingob was not only a respected leader but also a dedicated servant of his people," in an excerpt from his remarks. In the history of Namibia, his vision, dedication, and ceaseless attempts to improve the welfare of the people have left a lasting impression."


The passing of Namibia's President Geingob, 82, occurred while he was undergoing medical treatment at a hospital in the capital, Windhoek. Vice-President Nangolo Mbumba confirmed Mr. Geingob's demise through a statement issued in the early hours of Sunday, February 4.

A veteran of Namibia's independence struggle, President Geingob had been diagnosed with cancer, a detail he shared publicly last month. The loss of President Geingob has been described by Mr. Mbumba as the nation losing a "liberation... icon."
