My Government Neglected Development In Ekumfi Because Residents Voted NPP Candidate Out of Parliament - Akufo-Addo
During a gathering at the Jubilee House with traditional leaders from the Ekumfi constituency, President Akufo-Addo addressed the voting pattern in the region, expressing his disappointment.
The President revealed that his administration had deprioritized development efforts following the community's decision to remove Francis Ato Cudjoe from Parliament during the 2020 elections.
President Akufo-Addo directly connected the lack of developmental focus in Ekumfi to the electorate's rejection of Ato Cudjoe, who held the position of Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, specifically tasked with advancing progress in the area. His sentiments underscored his discontent with the election outcome, while also assuring the gathered leaders that he would reconsider the prevailing situation.
The traditional leaders had sought an audience at the Jubilee House to plead for enhanced development aimed at elevating the living standards of their constituents. Despite Ato Cudjoe's loss in the 2016 parliamentary election, Abeiku Crentsil emerged victorious in 2020, succeeding over Ato Cudjoe.
