Following the parties' filing of written arguments, the verdict was set for November 22, 2023. The allegations are related to incidents that occurred on April 24, 2021, and involved Dr. Frederick Yao Mac-Palm, ACP Dr. Agordzo, the late Citadel Hospital CEO, and eight other people.

ACP Dr. Benjamin Agordzo and Colonel Samuel Kodzo Gameli were charged with abetment. Those implicated included Dr. Mac Palm (who is now deceased), Donya Kafui alias Ezor, Bright Allan Debrah Ofosu, Yohannes Zikpi, Warrant Officer Class Two Esther Saan Dekuwine, Corporal Seidu Abubakar, Lance Corporal Ali Solomon, and Corporal Sylvester Akanpewon.

When the trial began, all ten of the defendants entered an initial plea of not guilty and were given bail.

Notably, the Court confirmed that Dr. Mac-Palm's testimony was removed from the records as a result of his demise. AG Godfred Yeboah Dame led the prosecution, which also comprised members of the Attorney General's Office. The defense team, which included attorneys from Legal Aid as well as private practice, defended each of the accused.
