Ghana Music Awards USA Backs Support for Playing More Ghanaian Music

The Ghana Music Awards USA (GMA-USA) organizers have endorsed this important agenda, demonstrating the growing support for the emphasis on playing more Ghanaian music. This initiative has the support of the GMA-USA, an awards program that aims to promote and elevate Ghanaian music consumption in the United States of America (USA).

The request to prioritize playing Ghanaian music within the nation aligns with the main goals of the awards program, according to Don Denis, the scheme's founder. "This is a good agenda," he said. We can only elevate Ghanaian music to a global level by prioritizing our own rights. That is among the Ghana Music Awards USA's primary goals. 

Don Denis further mentioned that since the inception of the GMA-USA, the scheme has successfully elevated the status of Ghanaian music within the United States, making Ghanaians proud of their musical heritage and introducing Ghanaian music to a broader audience.

While expressing support for showcasing music from various nations, he emphasized the importance of giving special attention to Ghanaian music, underlining the need for its increased visibility. 

As they gear up for the 5th edition of the awards, preparations are underway, and a press soirée for the 2024 edition of the scheme has been scheduled for January 18, 2024, at the Soho Restaurant in Airport, Accra, Ghana. This event will serve as a platform to engage with the media and music stakeholders, discussing strategies to enhance the awards scheme and unveil plans for the upcoming 5th edition.
