Dr. Spio-Garbrah Expresses Interest In Running Mate Position For NDC

Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, the former Trade Minister during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, has expressed his keenness and preparedness to potentially assume the role of running mate for the party's flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, in the forthcoming 2024 elections. 

Dr. Spio-Garbrah underscored that his wealth of experience and competence would significantly contribute to the NDC's electoral ticket as they strive for victory in the impending elections.

During an interview on Accra-based TV3 on Monday, January 22, Dr. Spio-Garbrah reaffirmed his eagerness to serve if called upon by Mr. Mahama, emphasizing his capability and readiness to undertake such a responsibility. 

"I am also capable; I am also ready. So it is a matter of his choice. If he chooses me, we all hear about it. I have made myself known and available to lead our party and to lead Ghana, and I’m still here in Ghana," he conveyed.

Mr. Mahama, who is seeking re-election in 2024, announced his intention to unveil his running mate in February 2024. It's worth noting that in the 2020 elections, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang served as the running mate for the former president.
