During an inspection of deteriorated sections of the Accra-Kumasi Highway in Dadieso, Asante Akim South Municipality of the Ashanti Region, the Minister revealed that this was his fourth inspection exercise since assuming office two weeks ago. He emphasized the importance of generating revenue through toll collection to maintain the country's existing road infrastructure.

Mr. Asenso-Boakye stressed the significance of revenue from tolls in financing road maintenance, citing the need to resume toll collection for this purpose. He urged political leaders not to politicize the Ministry's efforts but to view it as a crucial national development initiative.

In addition to the inspection in Dadieso, the Minister visited Ofankor to assess progress on the 18.1 km Ofankor-Nsawam dual carriageway road project. This project, funded by the Government of Ghana and Afriexim Bank, is being executed by Maripoma Enterprise Limited under a Design and Build Contract with Associated Consultants Limited.

The road project, part of the Accra-Kumasi Road network, commenced in July 2022 and is scheduled for completion this year. It includes three lanes, service roads, an interchange, two overpasses, and an underpass. Chief Resident Engineer Mr. Kwabena Bempong reported significant progress on concrete work and footbridge construction, with overpasses and an underpass under construction at Medie, Pobiman, and Amasaman.
