In his remarks on February 15, 2024, at the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council Conference of Heads of Churches and Organizations, Mr. Agyebeng underlined the seriousness of the situation. He pointed to Ghana's persistently low ranking on the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) as a clear illustration of the ongoing challenges facing the anti-corruption movement.

Recognizing the important social significance of religious leaders, Mr. Agyebeng emphasized the potential impact of their participation in anti-corruption campaigns. He asked them to use their platforms and power to expose unethical behavior and encourage moral behavior among their followers.

Speaking to the crowd, Mr. Agyebeng questioned why corruption still exists in a nation where 71% of people identify as Christians. He demanded that this matter receive more attention and urged religious authorities to take an active role in the battle against corruption by denouncing immoral actions in public.

Ghana ranked 70th out of 180 nations and territories evaluated in the Corruption Perceptions Index 2023, which was published by Transparency International on January 30, 2024, with a score of 43 out of 100. The report revealed that Ghana has experienced four consecutive years of stagnation in its anti-corruption efforts, raising concerns about the potential for further decline if decisive action is not taken.
